PrintReady QR help
Fastest way: right-click
- Select a link in your document. Linked text like "our website" works too, the code uses the address behind it.
- Right-click and choose QR code > Insert QR code.
The code goes right after the link, using the size and colours you last set in the pane. Choose QR code > QR code options to change them.
Insert a QR code from the pane
- On the Home tab, select QR code.
- Type or paste a link. You can also select a link in your document and choose Use selected text.
- Set the size in millimetres.
- Select Insert QR code. The code goes after your selected text, or replaces it if you choose that under Style and options.
Text wrap
Under Style and options > Text wrap, choose In line with text (the code sits in the line like a large letter) or Square (text flows around the code and you can drag it anywhere on the page). Right-click inserts use the same choice. You can also change an existing code with Word's Layout Options button next to it.
Resize a code
Click the QR code in your document, set the new size in the pane, then select Resize selected code. You can also drag the corner handles in Word. The shape stays square.
Printing tips
- Keep each square of the code at 0.5 mm or larger, or at least 0.4 mm if people scan it up close. The pane tells you the printed square size and warns you when a code is too small.
- Use a dark code on a light background with strong contrast.
- Shorter links make simpler codes that scan at smaller sizes.
- Leave the white border around the code. Scanners need it.
- Test the printed code with two or three different phones before a large print run.
Requirements
